MEMOIR OF A FOOD TECHNOLOGY STUDENT
My name is Ngozi Leader Chimeremeze, I come from a conventional middle class family, my father is a first class teacher, and my mother, a nurse, and all I had heard and seen were courses in which scholars became Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Bankers, Architects, Nurses, Teachers and others, and so I became convinced that courses by their very nature were all about these professions. Things changed when I discovered Food Science and Technology courses. They weren’t quite as easy to find as the conventional courses. But, because of outstanding scholars like Prof. M. O. Iwe, Prof. G. I. Onwuka, Dr. Nneoma Obasi, Dr S. C. Ubbor and other professionals, I went through a mental shift in my perception of Food Science and Technology.
